SFDB: The Science Fiction Database

How to add to the SFDB

As you browse entries, you'll see above each one a bar for adding new material. You can use it to add a new entry to the universe you are browsing (or to another universe). You can also add a new universe. Every item you add goes into our internal moderation system, where it will be vetted (if necessary) and hopefully approved by our moderators. Anything on-topic and genuinely informative will be considered, although it needs to be about science fiction. It should also only cover published material, as opposed to someone's "hobby" universe.

Modifying existing entries

Below each entry is the option to update it. Using this, you can add new text or correct existing details in an entry. The resulting update will be passed to our moderators, and until it is approved the old version will continue to be displayed.

Types of entry

Each entry has an associated "info box" on the right of the screen. Whether you are editing an existing entry or creating a new one, the fields of the info box will be available for you to modify. They change depending on the type of entry, so, for example, videogames have spaces to entry the year of release and the publisher, whereas TV episodes have drop-down menus for you to choose an assoiciated TV series.
