AMS

The AMS, or Anti Missile System is a mech mounted weapon, usually consisting of a small to medium sized rapid fire gatling gun style weapon.

The intention of this weapon is to destroy missiles before they hit the mech. Although not always effective they have saved numerous lives. Development is always ongoing in this field and some energy weapon based AMS's have been manufactured in extremely limited numbers.
