Commander Adama
Commander Adama was one of the members of the original Qurom of the Twelve, and seemed to be the sole sceptical one among that body who was wary of the proposed
Cylon peace treaty. Despite urging President Adar to be cautious, he was ignored, and had to watch while the Twelve Colonies burned and the Colonial Battlefleet was all but destroyed. Deciding to retreat from the battle at Cimtar while he still had an intact ship, he took the
Galactica to Caprica, his home planet in an effort to help the civilians there. While still on route, the Galactica picked up transmissions of the Cylon attacks. Despite the danger, Adama landed on Capricas surface and put out a call for any spaceworthy civilian ship from any of the colonies to join him.
Adama is a deeply religious man, an avid reader of the various Kobollian scriptures. He has one surviving son, Apollo, and one daughter, Athena. Apollo is strike commander on the Galactica, while Athena is a bridge officer. His other son, Zack was killed in the Cylon ambush on his first operational flight, and his wife, Ila was never found. He presumes that she will be dead.
