Aegis Class Cruiser

The Aegis class Cruiser predates the Star League accords, having first been launched in 2372. The aging vessels were decommisioned in 2531, but were later reactivated when there was an urgent need for warships in the Reunification war that followed the signing of the Star League Accords. A number of each of these vessels was assigned to the Successor states militaries and they were extensively refurbished and refitted in Hegemony shipyards, primary among these improvements was the fitting of lithium-fusion batteries and a large number of turret mounted autocannon. Secondary armament supplemented the main batteries and although these ships were fairly lightly armoured a large number survived the fall of the Star League and left with General Kerensky's Exodus fleet.

The majority of Clan Aegis cruisers serve with the Jade Falcon clan where they carry out escort and transport duties.

Armament consists of twenty two Armstrong II 35-Series Class 35 Naval Autocannons, ten White Shark anti capship missile batteries, twenty four Class 20 Naval Autocannons, twelve Class 55 Naval Lasers, eight class 45 Naval Lasers and four Barracuda missile batteries.
