Albedo

Albedo was the official advisor and representative of the TechnoCore to the Hegemony of Man government. He looked like an ordinary man, with a long-shaped face and high jawbones. He was never present in person in government meetings, only by hologram.

Albedo, dispite not really being a human being, always acted as one, with his own personality and little quirks. He sat down on (holographic) chairs, smoked (holographic) cigars, ate (holographic) food on feasts, and the like.

After the Hegemony's fall and during the era of the Pax Empire, Albedo re-emerged to advise (this time in secrecy, as the TechnoCore was no longer (officially) considered an ally, and was demonized by the Catholic Church) the upper echelons of the Pax, including the Pope himself. At that time, he already possessed an artificial body that looked just like his old holographic projection. This new body featured capabilities far beyond an ordinary human body, such as the ability to easily survive long periods of exposure to outer space. He could also affect the cruciforms worn by Pax citizens - he could remotely cause them to emit grave pain into their host's body, or outright burn them from the inside out, vapourizing their bodies in the process (this latter ability might actually be that of Albedo's body itself, but it is not likely).

Albedo was apparently destroyed by Aenea at the cost of her life, with the help of traitor Cardinal Lourdusamy.
