Aliens (Second Alien War)

The alien forces of the 2nd alien invasion in 2039 consisted of 11 races, some of them intelligent, others - mindless machines of terror. These are: Aquatoid, Bio-Drone, Calcinite, Deep One, Gill Man, Hallucinoid, Lobster Man, Tasoth, Tentaculat, Triscene and Xarquid.

Unlike the aliens of the first war, these new races waged amphibious warfare that focused on attacks on ships and coastal residential areas.

They have been awakened from their many million years old sleep by a signal from Cydonia, Mars, that was sent by the Brain shortly before its destruction. Most of the races involved in this war are actually ancient terrestrial organisms, sometimes modified genetically or cybernetically. Their primary base of operation was the underwater city of T'leth, hidden deep in the Gulf of Mexico. X-Com, which was reinstated to fight the new threat, has eventually managed to construct a submersible vehicle sturdy enough to endure the enormous depths at which T'leth resides, using reverse-engineered alien technology, just like in the first war. An elite X-Com team has travelled to T'leth and managed to destroy it, resulting, unfortunately, in massive pollution of the atmosphere as T'leth rose above the water and self-destructed.
