Alliance

The Alliance is the ruling body of the various planets in Firefly. Some years ago there was a civil war between the Alliance, who wanted to keep tight control over the worlds in their possession, and the Independents who felt that the Alliance should not keep sticking their noses where it was not wanted.

The Alliance won the civil war. The Alliance maintains patrols of ships throughout the 'Verse, from small patrol boats up to large cruisers.
