Lady Amaterasu

Amaterasu is the Japanese Sun Goddess in the Sintho pantheon, as well as one of the lesser Goa'uld System Lords. It is unknown if her position as solar deity implies some kind of relationship with Lord Ra, but all evidence implies that her influence within the Goa'uld feudal order was relatively limited, despite her important position in Japanese religion (where she is considered the divine ancestor of the Imperial family.

She wasn't in the summit of the main System Lords during Anubis' first campaigns. It seems that she joined this circle after the fall of some of them and Ba'al's treason. Her first contact with Earth probably was during the conference when she attempted, along with Yu and Camulus to gain help to counter the technologies Ba'al had located in Anubis' former strongholds.

The conference was a failure, because neither threats nor promises convinced Elzsabeth Weir, new head of the Stargate Command. When the Goa'uld turned down the human demands for Ba'al's territories and armies in exchange for the help the System Lords needed. After an unsuccessful attempt to attack Earth in order to test the power of the Ancient drone weapon that had defeated Anubis' armada, Amaterasu was arrested with the other members of the Goa'uld delegation.

Released shortly afterwards to keep Ba'al busy, Amaterasu fought for at least another half a year. Then she and many other System Lords prepared for a desperate last stand against their enemy's greater forces. At least Olokun and Basted died at this point, but Amaterasu survived and kept at least a part of her forces (that the rebel Jaffa attempted to commandeer during the early stages of the Replicator invasion of the Milky Way).

She might have acknowledged Ba'al's lordship, as Morrigan did, because she wasn't present in the last Council of the System Lords when the Replicators attacked. Hence, it is possible that she survived the fall of the Goa'uld power (like Ba'al himself did), but the loss of her power and former position is a certainty.
