Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht

Precentor Martial Focht is the head of the Comguard as of the time of the Clan Invasion. He is a cunning tactician and has a healthy respect for the Ilkhan, Ulric Kerensky. He doesn't seem to like Primus Myndo Waterley but for a time goes along with her orders.

Focht has a secret though, he is in fact Frederick Steiner. Steiner had been involved in a plot to topple the Archon Katrina Steiner and his co-conspirators left him to absorb the blame. Archon Steiner however gave him an honourable way out, a mission which he knew was suicide, to knock out Draconis Combine jumpship engines. Steiner however knew that he would avoid disgrace for his family and perhaps redeem himself.

He was thought dead, captured by Theodore Kurita, but he revealed years later that he had been given another chance and Comstar trained him. His years of experience as a Steiner officer combined with Comstar training made him an expert tactician. He started training Prince Victor Steiner-Davion as well, perhaps as another way to redeem for his past mistakes.
