Sinclair is taken prisoner by agents intent on finding out the truth behind his mysterious disappearance during the final hours of the Earth-Minbari war.

This episode piles in many plot arc elements and sets the main story in motion. For the benefit of viewers who may not have seen the pilot (which was not broadcast before the first series in many territories) Sinclair again tells the story of the events leading up to his 24-hour black-out during which the Minbari surrendered.

This time we discover new elements about what happened to him and who may have been involved, as well as seeing the conflict of the Earth-Minbari war for the first time, through Sinclair's memories.
