Asgard

The Asgard are a highly advanced race of beings from a galaxy beyond the Milky Way. Thousands of years ago they entered into an alliance with three other advanced civilizations - the Ancients, the Nox, and the Furlings - for mutual defense and technology sharing. In recent years the Asgard have developed strong ties to various human races in the Milky Way, and have activly prevented the Goa'uld from taking over the galaxy. The Asgard's greatest enemy, the Replicators, have been taking and destroying many Asgard worlds within recent times and as a result the Asgard have moved to a more warlike footing. The Asgard use rare elements such as Neutronium, Trinium, and Naquadah to power and armour their vessels. They are among the most powerful races known to Stargate command.
