Avenger Torpedo Bomber

The boxy rather graceless looking form of the Avenger is the primary torpedo bomber of the Union of Borderworlds. Despite it's looks it is quite effective with a payload that is at least equal that of the Longbow, while being far more agile. Primary forward armament consists of two mass drivers, two photon guns as well as two of the specialised Leech guns. There is a rear turret with a single mass driver and tractor beam mount, but although the rear turret can be useful, the large rear fins block much of the field of fire. For this reason Avengers are often sent out with no rear gunner.

It is also one of the few fighters capable of having a jump drive fitted.
