Babylon 5: A Call To Arms

Overview

This was the final story to be filmed as part of Babylon 5's original production run.

Plot Synopsis

After seeing the Interstellar Alliance's two newest prototype destroyers, Sheridan is visited in a dream by Galen, a technomage. He shows him destruction caused by a test of a leftover Shadow weapon by a race called the Drakh. A thief and a destroyer captain are also visited by Galen, and together the three, along with the destroyer crew, steal the two prototype destroyers and head for the Drakh test site. They discover a desolate planet where there should be an Eden-like world.

A skirmish with some Drakh ships leads them to believe the Drakh are taking the planet-killing weapon to Earth. Slipping ahead of them, Sheridan organises a defence force to meet them at Earth.

When the planet killer arrives, one of the prototype destroyers is sacrificed so clear the way for the other to use its main gun. The thief, Dureena, identifies the central brain complex of the weapon, in a disguised node next to the expected target. Sheridans orders them to fire on it, destroying the weapon.

In the aftermath, the Drakh unleash a plague on Earth, setting the premise for the sequel series, Crusade.
