Battlestar Galactica (Ship)

The Battlestar Galactica, commanded by Commander Adama is the flagship, and sole warship of the rag-tag civilian fleet. The sole survivor of the Battle of Cimtar, the Galactica is guardian to the last remnants of humanity.

Broadly similiar to other ships of her class, the Galactica carried two squadrons of Vipers until she took on the Pegasus's strike wing.

The Galactica is an old vessel like many Battlestars, she was already 500 years old at the time of the Battle of Cimtar. It is unknown if she has the launchers that the Pegasus seemed to be equipped with, or has simply run out of munitions, but she does have an extensive array of point defense laser cannons which operate on an automated IFF system.
