Battlestar Galactica (TV Series)

'There are those who believe that life here, began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the Great Pyramids, or the lost civilisations of Lemuria, and Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive, far, far away, amongst the stars'

So opened the narration to the pilot episode of Battlestar Galactica. At that time the most expensive Science Fiction series ever made. Laced liberally with references from Erich von Danikens Chariots of the Gods book and some Mormon theology (Larson is a Mormon), Battlestar Galactica was certainly meant to be a more serious series than Larson Buck Rogers.
