Black Lance

The Black Lance was formed as part of the Black Ops division of the Terran Confederation and once the Confed-Kilrathi war ended, the Black Lance project fell under the supervision of Admiral Geoffrey Tolwyn who was by this time dissatisfied with the Confed civilian government. Being head of the Strategic Readiness Authority gave Tolwyn an advantage when running the Black Lance, and he was able to manipulate Confed into nearly starting a war with the Union of Border Worlds.

The Black Lance fighter squadrons flew hyper-advanced fighters outfitted with the latest technology including its own jump engine, ram scoops which gave it an unlimited afterburner and an improved cloaking device developed from the original Kilrathi model.

The pilots themselves were genetically engineered using the templates of some of Confeds best pilots such as Christopher Blair, Ian St John and Todd Marshall. Combined with their youth and enhanced reflexes these pilots generally outmatched Confed veterans.
