Capellan Confederation (House Liao)

The smallest of the Successor States in the Inner Sphere}, the Capellan Confederation has long been as enemy of House Davion. It has had an uneasy relationship with the Free Worlds League.

Moreso perhaps than any other Inner Sphere realm, the particular direction that the Confederation takes seems to depend on the mood, and even sanity of the current Chancellor. It seems that every so often, madness and paranoia are part of the Liao family makeup. During the Fourth Sucession Wars, both Chancellor Maximillian and his successor and daughter Romano, suffered from bouts of insanity, paranoia and extreme mood swings. Frequent purges crippled the ranks of the armed forces. The present Chancellor Sun-Tzu seems to be more stable, although perhaps because of that he is all the more dangerous and should not be understimated.
