Capship plasma cannon

Plasma cannons were the primary means to destroy capital ships until the more effective anti-matter torpedos were developed at the beginning of the Terran Kilrathi war.

They used large plasma discharges to batter down the enemies phase shielding and were mounted on battleships. Still mounted on some older hulls, they are not used in newer designs, and older ships that are refitted will generally have them removed and replaced with newer technology.
