Cardassian Union

A militaristic and fascist civilization, the Cardassian Union controls a large section of territory in the west of the Alpha Quadrant, and its borders directly meet with of those of the United Federation of Planets.

Hundreds of years ago the Cardassians were a peaceful and spiritual civilization that excelled in art, and made beautiful architechture that was famous throughout the Quadrant. Then the dark times came, and the Cardassian people were suffering with famine, hunger and civil wars, until the Cardassian military staged a take-over and dismantled the civilian goverment.

The newly established Central Command immediately began a build-up of troops and warships. They launched attacks against their neighbouring systems and invaded them all to plunder their natural resources, in order to secure and reinvigorate their civilization.

After several decades, the Cardassian Union had established an empire only matched by the Federation, Klingons and Romulans.
