HIMS Chimaera

The Chimaera was one of the first Imperator-class ships built by the Empire. It served for a long time as the flagship of the entire Imperial fleet, until the introduction of the Executor-class super star destroyer.

After the Battle of Endor, where the Chimaera fought against the rebel forces, Captain Gilad Palleaon took command of the vessel after it's original commander had been killed. In the years of chaos following the demise of the Empire, the Chimaera was bounced around through various pseudo-imperial factions, eventually ending ups as Grand Admiral Thrawns flagship during his bid to retake the empire. Thrawn died on the bridge of that Star Destroyer.

When the Empire finally coalesced into the Imperial Remnant, the Chimaera remained in service, still under the command of the now Grand Admiral Palleaon. During the Yuuzhan Vong war when Imperial space was invaded by the Yuuzhan Vong, the Chimaera was heavily damaged at the battle of Bastion, as was her commander, but it did survive to limp to a nearby shipyard for repairs.
