Chtorr

It is the 21st century and the earth is being invaded. Not by death-ray toting aliens but by their ecology.

It is really a terraforming tale in reverse. An alien race is 'chtorrforming' earth and the human race is valiantly fighting back. Plagues, over voracious lifeforms, selected extermination of terran ecology and giant human eating worms all conspire to give humanity a really bad day.

The hero of the story is a brillant, capable biologist who, as the story progresses learns more and more about the depth, subtlety and horrific nature of the invaders.
