Citi-Def

Citi-Def, or Citizen Defence Corps, is the group in each Mega City residential block which acts as a sort of reserve force in times of war. They could be roughly compared to a National Guard. Since Mega City residential blocks are huge self sustaining buildings, each blocks Citi-Def unit can run into the thousands.

The Judges have long weighed up the pros and cons of allowing the Citi-Def units to exist, citing cases where there have been Block Wars started on the simplest of pretexts.

However, it cannot remain unsaid that those self same units have served the Mega Cities in time of crisis. During the Apocalypse War, valiant Citi-Def units formed part of the resistance along with what was left of the Justice Department against the massed Sov-Blok forces.
