Colonial Viper

The Colonial Viper, also sometimes known as the Starhound, is a fast, maneuverable fighter that is the standard interceptor in service with the Colonial Fleet.

Requiring only a single pilot, unlike the Cylon Raider which requires a crew of three, the Viper is a sleek distinctive fighter. Three large engines give it immense speed and acceleration, while the afterburner can help it to escape a tight situation when necessary.

Vipers are armed with twin laser cannons, and it is assumed they can be retrofitted with other armaments as necessary. However, it could also be assumed that fitting additional ordnance would degreade the Viper's performance.

One on one against a Cylon Raider, the Viper will win the majority of the time, however the Cylons have the numbers on their side.

A variant of the Viper has been fitted with an AI computer, known as CORA and long range fuel tanks, however, this means removing the vessels armament to compensate.
