Gunnery Sergeant David McIntyre

David McIntyre was Gunnery Sergeant on the EAS Prometheus, the vessel which made contact with the Minbari. Acting on orders to open fire on the Minbari fleet, he was later involved in the Earth-Minbari war, and also was one of a small number of survivors from the Battle of the Line.

Honourably discharged, he later disappeared until eventually detected on Babylon 5 on 2260. Since the war he had believed that he was Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, and that his task was to return the sword, Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake. What was clear was that McIntyre was suffering from a form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, wracked with guilt over taking the first shot so many years before, he felt responsible for the deaths that followed on both sides.

What happened was that Ambassador Delenn sought him out and forgave him. After that, McIntyre made a speedy recovery and helped the Narns against the Centauri Republic.
