DeLameter

The beam-projecting hand-weapon which replaced the Lewiston as the official Galactic Patrol sidearm. DeLameters were the most powerful portable weapons known to the military scientists of the Patrol, and were adopted as well by pirates and zwilniks. The destructive beam of a DeLameter could be varied from a wide aperture cone of comparatively low intensity to a narrow aperture high intensity pencil-like beam.
