Direwolf

The Direwolf is one of the heaviest mechs in use by the Clans, classed as an Assault Class mech, the Direwolf is not as maneuverable or nimble as other mechs but makes up for it in terms of sheer firepower. Christened 'Daishi', meaning 'Great Death' by a member of the Japanese criminal underground in the Draconis Combine, it is a formidable opponent.

Like all Omnimechs, the Direwolf operates in a number of configurations due to it's modular configuration. The 'Alpha' or Primary variant is the most common. Mounting an LRM-10 pack missile launcher on its shoulder, this supplements a fearsome arsenal of energy and projectile weapons. Four Clan tech Extended Range Large Lasers, two in each arm are mated with a similiar configuration of Medium Pulse Lasers. As if that was not bad enough, an Ultra model Autocannon/5 is mounted in each arm.
It is, however, rarely seen. The Direwolf is used by a number of people. Natasha Kerensky favoured using a Direwolf to her own specification christened Widowmaker, and Prince Victor Steiner-Davion also used a Direwolf which was presented to him by Colonel Jaime Wolf of the Wolf's Dragoons Mercenary unit which he named Prometheus.
