F-103A Excalibur

The Excalibur class fighter was the peak of technological fighter innovation that was ready for operation in the last days of the Confed-Kilrathi war.

One of the early production vessels was assigned to the TCS Victory and was later used to deliver the Temblor bomb weapon on Kilrah.

The Excalibur was identified as having potentially light armour compared to other fighters in its weight class, but it was felt that the increased shield strength and agility as well as the vessels heavy armament made it a reasonable trade off.

Main gun armament consisted of four Tachyon cannons and two Reaper cannons giving a strong offensive punch. Standard missile loadout was missiles carried on twelve pylons. Obviously, some of this capability was sacrificed for the Temblor bomb mission.

The Excalibur was unusual in also having its own hyperdrive. It is also quite likely that the Excalibur Class served as a testbed itself for technologies that would later be implemented into the infamous Black Lance Dragon class Fighter.
