FN P-90

The Fabrique Nationale P-90 was one of the Western worlds first attempts at a PDW (Personal Defense Weapon), originally intended to replace pistols for military personnel who could not carry a full sized assault rifle or even a carbine variant of one. Armoured vehicle crewmen for instance was one such targetted group.

Firing an unusual 5.7mm x 28mm cartridge, it has replaced the Heckler & Koch MP-5 in service with SG-1 and assumably in some other SG teams.

It's small size and large magazine make it ideal for SG-1's tasks, though obviously, SG teams geared more towards military assault will continue to use various heavier weapons like the M-4 Carbineand the M-249 Squad Automatic Weapon.
