Flak A-F turrets

The most dreaded ingame weapon for players flying bombers. The flak turrets can shred the most heaviest bomber in-game in a matter of seconds (the Shivan Seraphim bomber).
The weapon itself in-game doesnt have any identifiable projectile, but you definitely know when it turns on you. It will reduce you to a smoldering wreck if you stay too long in its line of sight. It is designed mostly to take out enemy bombs en-route to the ship. There is a story about the origins of the Flak weapon in Freespace 2. The story has it that the Vasudans developed it to assist in defense against smaller foes because they were very weak in that department. Whether this is canon or not is open to debate.
