Captain Frank Hollister

Frank Hollister is the Captain of the JMC Red Dwarf. Usually he is seen as fairly easy going, but seems to be irritated by Arnold Rimmer. Hollister sentenced Lister to spend the rest of the trip in stasis for breaking quarantine regulations, which inadvertently saved Listers life when the reactor of the Red Dwarf went critical.

Thought dead with the rest of the crew of the Red Dwarf, Hollister was ressurected by nanobots.

Hollister also seems to be perpetually suffering from a variety of minor ailments. Rimmer has no respect for him whatsoever, calling him such names as 'Captain Fat Bastard'. It also irritates Rimmer that Hollister says he has no chance of becoming an officer.

It is also revealed in Season VIII that he got the job of Captain by an unfair means and he has kept this secret.
