Fremen

The indigenious native people of the Planet Arrakis, the Fremen have been oppressed by the Harkonnens for centuries.

Fremen live in both the cities like Arrakeen, and in desert communities called Sietches. Despite the best efforts of the Imperium, no exact accounting has ever been made of their number.

The Emperor and many of the other Great Houses thought that outside of the cities there were a few scattered tribes and smuggler bands.
