Galactic Terran Alliance

Unified government of Terran space from the early 24th century up to about 2340. The GTA was formed after a bitter unification war, and soon went from the frying pan into the fire after misunderstandings between Terrans and Vasudans sparked the 14-year Terran-Vasudan War. The Galactic Terran Alliance barely survived the Shivan invasion, and all contact with Earth was lost after the destruction of the Shivan warship SD Lucifer in the Delta Serpentis-Sol jump node.
