Battlestar Galactica

A large but old ship that dated back to the last Cylon War.

She was scheduled to be decommisioned and turned into a museum before the Cylon attack. The Galactica carries an impressive anti-starfighter armament. It can survive a direct hit from nuclear weapons (yield estimates vary, but probably between 50Kt - 50Mt). Has faster than light jump engines that transfer the ship almost instantly to its pre-programmed location. Has two fighter bays.

These fighter bays retract partially into the main hull when preparing to jump to lightspeed. Due to the Galactica's antiquated computer system that did not rely on networking technology, it was not vulnerable to the advanced jamming technology that the Cylons used.
