Chief Judge Griffin

Formerly a Judge Tutor at the Academy of Law, Griffin was involved in the fighting against Chief Judge Cal since Judge Tutors did not have to attend the daily briefings, and therefore recieve the subliminal brainwashing that the other Judges did.

When Cal was overthrown, Griffin was elevated to the rank of Chief Judge. Stern, but fair, Griffin was one of the only members of the Council of Five who backed up Dredd when he purposefully failed the mission to retrieve Owen Krysler, the Judge Child. Griffin said that he trusted Dredd's judgement.

Griffin was present in Mega City One when Block Mania erupted and despite his best efforts could not seem to control it, but the cause was soon found out, the water of Mega City One had been tampered with by Orlok, a Sov-Block agent.

With the Apocalypse War in full swing, Griffin was gravely injured while on board an H-Wagon which was ferrying himself and Judge Dredd. Dredd took Griffin to one of Mega City Ones underground command bunkers and decided that the best course of action would be to evacuate the Chief Judge on board Justice Two, the long range spacecraft retained by the Justice Department.

Unfortunately, Justice Two was intercepted by Sov-Block space forces and Griffin was captured and brainwashed by various mind control therapies. Soon after, Griffin was broadcasting Pro Sov-Block propaganda and Judge Dredd had no alternative but to sneak into the Hall of Justice and assasinate Griffin while he was on air.
