Heckler & Koch MP5
The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a submachine gun developed by German weapons manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K) in the 1960s. It was first used by the German police and the borderguards, followed by the counter-terrorism unit GSG-9, who introduced the weapon to other Western counter-terrorism units. It has since went on to become the weapon of choice for many Police armed response units and other elite forces including the British SAS who famously used it in the Iranian Embassy siege.
It fires 9 x 19 mm Luger, also known as 9mm Parabellum ammunition, and due to the MP5's accuracy, reliability, and wide range of accessories and variants have made it the first submachine gun of choice for SG-1 and other SG-teams until it was replaced by the FN P90. Still, various SG teams make use of the MP5, and isn't likely to retire from service for a long time.
