Imperium of a Million Worlds (Before Arrakis affair)

The Imperium has ruled since the defeat of the thinking machines during the Butlarian Jihad. House Corrino rules from the Lion Throne on planet Kaitain, with the Sadaukar used to keep the peace. The galaxy is ruled by three groups in a precarious balance: House Corrino, the Spacing Guild, and the Bene Gesserit.
