Invisible Hand
Originally the personal vessel of Nute Gunray and his advisers, the Invisible Hand took the form of a cruiser - but later changed its role to that of carrier/destroyer when General Grievous took over command of the ship. The vessel was designed by Quarren engineers for the Trade Federation.
The Invisible hand had been on more than twenty missions in the Core Systems -- which included an hour-long bombardment of the former city-planet Humbarine and the release of a plague in the Weemell Sector - and continued to fight up until the battle over Coruscant in which it was destroyed. General Grievous, launching an attack on the Republic capital, led his ships from the bridge of the Invisible Hand. Despite the advantage of surprise and a key hostage (Chancellor Palpatine), the Invisible Hand was boarded by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. In the midst of battle, Republic warships began firing on the Invisible Hand relentlessly, due in part to a communication failure regarding the presence of the Supreme Chancellor aboard the vessel. This bombardment was enough to cause the ship to descend into the atmosphere and partially break up. Grievous, almost losing a fight to the pair of Jedi, fled the ship. Together, Obi-Wan and Anakin managed to land half of the vessel (the other half being lost) on a Coruscant runway - saving those who might have been hit by the falling flagship.
