Ion cannon

Fires electrically accelerated ion bolts. Does, medium damage and has a long range, but also a low fire rate and rather high energy consumption.

This weapon is in widespread use by both Confed and Kilrathi forces as well as smaller powers like the Landreich and Union of Borderworlds.
