KIS Karga

The KIS Karga was a Bhantkara class Supercarrier which engaged in heavy combat with a Confederation Cruiser squadron in the Vaku system in 2669.

After destroying both cruisers, the Karga sustained heavy damage, disabling her drive systems and crippling all shielding systems. The vessels technical cadre evacuated to the small moon of Nargrast to avoid suffering a prolonged death by radiation poisoning from the peculiar emissions of the Vaku systems Brown Dwarf star. The Admiral and command crew initiated a self destruct sequence to destroy the carrier. This, however, had malfunctioned. With a slow death by radiation their only prospect, the remaining bridge crew chose to commit ritual suicide.

The derelict hull of the Karga was later found still adrift in orbit by a Landreich civilian survey vessel. The information was sold to President Max Kruger who proposed an audacious plan to send a small carrier group consisting of the FRLS Independence, formerly the Confed Escort Carrier Tarawa, and numerous support vessels. The mission, codenamed Project Goliath was in fact Max Kruger's attempt to salvage a Supercarrier. He felt that Confed was not taking the threat of rogue Kilrathi forces seriously and wished to redress the balance.

Despite some initial problems, the Landreich forces managed to get the Karga into working order with the help of some of the Kilrathi technical cadre.

The Karga was later rechristened as the FLRS Mjollnir and attempted to attack the Kilrathi Dreadnought Vorghath.

This mission succeeded with the Mjollnir suffering heavy damage. However, it was still spaceworthy and was eventually repaired in Landreich shipyards.
