Archon-Princess Katherine Steiner-Davion

Sister of Victor Steiner-Davion and eldest daughter of Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner.

Beautiful and extremely dangerous, Katherine is very manipulative, cunning and scheming. Yet despite this she is extremely intelligent and can be very subtle in her dealings. She won the hearts of the Lyran section of the Federated Commonwealth and had far more popularity there than her brother Victor. This was in part due to Victors seeming more militaristic stance and the fact that after the death of Melissa in a bombing, Victor seemed to take on a cold and distant stance. Victor also had quite a few public relations disasters which reflected poorly on himself. Katherine, in contrast was a consumate politician and could easily put on a charming face for the public.

In fact, Katherine had masterminded the death of her own mother and put out a campaign to make it seem that Victor might have had a hand in it, but it was slanted in such a way that Katherine was initially defending her brother from his detractors.

Due to the size of the Federated Commonwealth, Katherine was in de-facto control of the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth. This was an arrangement agreed upon by Victor as he was occupied with the threat from the clans. When Victor tried to conceal the death of Joshua Marik, the only son of Captain-General Thomas Marik who had been in the care of the New Avalon Institute of Science for leukemia treatment, Katherine saw her chance and seized control of the Lyran Commonwealth, declaring it a seperate and autonomous realm in 3057.

She took on the name Katrina Steiner-Davion to basically cash in on the popularity of the old Archon Katrina Steiner, her grandmother, who was still held in reverence in Lyran space. When Victor left for Clan Space with Task Force Serpent, she also seized control of the Federated Suns half of the Fedcom, more or less deposing her younger sister Yvonne.
