Krys Knife

A Krys knife is the small bladed weapon carried by the Fremen on the planet Arrakis.

It's blade is traditionally made from the tooth of an adult sandworm. In the desert where highly technological weapons can disturb the sandworms, the Krys knife, a seeming anachronism, can prove to be an extremely lethal weapon in the hands of those trained to use it.

In addition to normal combat use, Krys knifes are used in ritualistic honour duels in Fremen society. The Krys remains an important weapon in the Fremen armoury as it will still function, when for whatever reason, other weapons will not.
