Laptop Gun

The Laptop Gun is designed to look and act like a laptop computer, including actual laptop functionality (albeit with a smaller-than-standard memory). In reality it is a submachine gun in disguise, looking mundane and innocuous until it is deployed. The Laptop Gun then transforms into a submachine gun with a high rate of fire (~900 rpm) and large clip (50 rounds). The gun can also be quickly set up as a sentry gun - even attaching to walls and ceilings - which automatically attacks any enemy within its field of fire. However, in sentry mode the weapon is limited to a single clip's worth of ammunition.

In the original Perfect Dark's multiplayer mode, the Laptop Gun was most popular as a sentry device, enabling the player to score kills in two places at once - with the best deployment typically being at highly traveled junctions. Only one weapon could be set in sentry mode at any given time, however, the first self-destructing upon deployment of the second.
