Laser Tank

The Laser Tank was a hastily built defensive vehicle that was quickly assembled on Moonbase Alpha by the ever inventive technical crews.

With the moon blasted out of Earth's orbit, the Alphans had to consider the possibility of encountering lifeforms that would be hostile and so start constructing some defensive measures.

Work started on the large Weapons section shortly after Breakaway and this consisted of two large cannons, but in the interim time a number of Lunar rover vehicles were adapted with spare eagle parts and fitted with makeshift weaponry.

Only used once, when the AI/Spacecraft Gwent visited Alpha, there were three Laser tanks, each of a slightly different design. The one shown is representative of the vehicles as a whole as each were armed in a similiar fashion.

None of the three survived battle with Gwent and it is unknown how many othersremain, although a single Laser Tank was sighted in an Eagle hanger in the episode Space Warp.

Armament consisted of a single laser cannon on a swivel mount on top of the hull.
