Leopard CV Class Dropship

The Leopard CV is one of the most common of the fighter carrying dropships in the Inner Sphere. It's simple design, combined with low running and maintainence costs have made it immensely popular among groups from small commercial and mercenary operations right up to the great houses.

Capable of carrying six Aerospace fighters, it also has a decent array of defensive and offensive weaponry. Twin Particle Projection Cannons give a decent punch, and three LRM-20 racks provide a good long range attack capability.

Seven medium lasers and five large lasers complete the armament of the Leopard CV.

The refitted model of the Leopard CV replaces the twin PPC's with two Extended-Range PPC's, improving the range of the weaponry significantly. The LRM-20's are also now slaved to Artemis Fire Control systems and the seven medium lasers are now replaced by Pulse variants. The Large lasers are now Extended Range models.

The main weakness in the Leopard CV is the distinctive protruding tail section, which if heavily damaged or destroyed adversely affects the flight capabilities of the dropship.
