Adjutant Lydia

Lydia, introduced in the weekly series of V, seemed to be the temporary de-facto commander of the mothership that was to take up station over Los Angeles when the Visitors returned to Earth. While like many of her species she had a certain ruthless streak about her, she didn't seem to be quite the sadist that Diana was and except for some stupid mistakes, she didn't believe in dismissing the efforts of the Resistance like Diana did.

Lydia was a strong willed personality and it was perhaps inevitable that when Diana returned to the fleet that these two would clash. Diana had no time for Lydia and on numerous occasions tried to dispose of her by either arranging her capture, trying to discredit her, and even going so far as to shoot down her skyfighter when Lydia decided to return to the Visitor homeworld to reveal Diana's incompetence.

Lydia returned alive to the fleet though with Charles, the new Fleet commander and the two women battled for his affections. Lydia did not take kindly to losing out and tried to poison Diana but instead killed Charles.

Diana caught Lydia and arranged for trial by combat, which was stopped by the arrival of Phillip, the Inspector General, and brother of Martin, Diana's late Lieutenant. He started an investigation to get into the bottom of Charles death, and both Lydia and Diana who had no real time for Phillip set up the Motherships apocethary to take the blame.
