Machine Ultimate Intelligence

The Machine Ultimate Intelligence was the creation of the Ultimates, a faction of Technocore AIs that focused in creating a supreme machine entity.

It gained sentience in a very distant future, when most main sequence stars had already evolved into red giants, by devouring the lesser AIs of the Technocore. Shortly after its inception, the MUI found out about the existence of the Human Ultimate Intelligence and declared a war that would decide the fate of the universe.

At this point, the MUI also made contact with its Technocore ancestors in the distant past and gave them advanced future technologies (such as the Farcasters and the Deathwands) and information that ensured the subtle machine control over the human race.

Eventually, the future war between the god-like Ultimate Intelligences was interrupted by the disapparition of Empathy, one of the components of the HUI, and the MUI sent the Shrike to the past with the tacit agreement of its foe to find Empathy.
