Maians

The Maians are, in appearance, the typical 'Grays' of alien-abduction stories. They are however quite friendly towards humanity. They are locked in a war with another alien race, the Skedar, which is extremely hostile both towards humans and, especially, the Maians.

Maian assistance and technology was vital in the course of stopping DataDyne's traitorous alliance with the manipulative Skedar, and in the subsequent infiltration of the Skedar's inner sanctum to assassinate its supreme leader.

Examples of Maian weaponry include the Phoenix pistol, which is the standard sidearm of Maian soldiers; the Callisto, essentially a submachine gun and primary weapon of Maian infantry forces; and the FarSight XR-20, a powerful railgun-type weapon capable of tracking and hitting targets through walls and other heavy cover. The Maians also employ a 'Psychosis Gun' which can mind-control human guards.

Maians pilot classic 'flying saucers' for at least some missions.
