Manned Insertion Pods
The Manned Insertion Pods, or MIP for short is a covert one man pod carried by a fighter, designed to allow an operative to be inserted into a location without the enemy's knowledge. The MIP itself is a small pod, with some element of steering and a negligible radar signature. It carries a small amount of oxygen for the crew member.
The MIP is carried on a missile hardpoint and is fired in the normal way. When the operative is finished, he or she returns to their pod and leaves the area. A friendly fighter then uses a tractor bean to retrieve the MIP.
