Metroid (Videogame)

The original Metroid game, this side-scrolling shooter/platformer established the basic elements of the series. However, it is no longer considered canon, as it has been replaced by Metroid: Zero Mission, which is essentially a more detailed retelling of the same plot.

In it, Samus is enlisted by the Galactic Federation to hunt down Space Pirates on the planet Zebes.
