Minbari Federation

The Minbari are an old race, one of the oldest of the 'Younger' races. They are a deeply spiritual people and bound by centuries of tradition. The present social structure of the Minbari has been in place for 1000 years when Valen appeared and set up the Grey Council and formalised the Caste structure. He also set up the rules that Minbari do not kill Minbari and similiar codes of conduct. Personal and clan honour is a strong motivator in Minbari society.

Minbari Society is split into one of three castes. The Worker caste do all the day to day work, maintaining the cities, building the starships, and all the other sundry tasks. The Religious Caste are charged with the spiritual well being of the Minbari people, they attend to and interpret prophecies, they are typically also the voice of reason in diplomatic situations. The Warrior Caste are the main warriors, though that is not to say that none of the other castes cannot fight. The Warrior Caste generally are some of the strongest and most aggresive of their race and some have little time not use for either the Religious or Worker Castes.

The cities in Minbar are primarily cut from crystal giving them a striking and distinctive appearance.

The homeworld of the Minbari Federation is Minbar. The capital city is Yedor.
The city of Tuzanor is also the primary training centre for the Anla'Shok also known as the Rangers.
